A discreet entrance and black stairs lead to Artemisa’s upstairs room, where a low central bar puts the drink-making within view. It is in Las Condes, east of Santiago’s historic centre and a short walk from Tobalaba metro station. Come after 5pm for a filter coffee at the counter, then stay for an espresso martini and plates to share.
Founders Nadín Elías and Ricardo Guerrero also run Bar Academy Chile, and the room brings their coffee and bartending work together. There are tables and a small lightwell terrace, but a seat at the bar gives you the closest view of the preparation.
Coffee
Espresso, ristretto and flat white sit alongside cappuccino, latte and affogato. Matcha latte and plant milk are available too.
The espresso martini is the straightforward starting point for coffee cocktails: specialty espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur. Carajillo Artemisa goes further, combining cold espresso with Licor 43, dark beer and goat-milk cordial. There are alcohol-free coffee drinks as well, including Coffee Tonic and Espresso Sin Tini; ask for those if you want to follow the cocktail side of the menu without spirits.
Filter
Manual drip is offered with different origins and brewing methods. Ask which coffees are available and what they cost before choosing. Cold brew is another option, served as a 150ml pour in a wine glass.
Food
Order for the table: chicken or tofu bao, pork dumplings and mushroom empanadas make it possible to build a meal from smaller plates. Mini burgers also have a vegetarian alternative. The kitchen carries the coffee theme into dessert with a matcha, coffee and pistachio dish. Portions and prices suit sharing a few dishes over drinks; allow a larger budget if you are arriving hungry.
Service & Room
The team can talk through both brewing choices and cocktails, which makes the counter a good seat for questions. Music and occasional DJ events can turn the room lively. Plan around the evening opening, and check the announced dates for Sunday Coffee Parties. The upstairs entrance involves stairs, a practical consideration when choosing where to meet.
