Share

Tuttee Fruttee Coffee, also known as COFFEE, sits on Grüngasse, a quiet side street west of Zurich's old town near Stauffacher tram stop. Inside are a green-veined marble counter, timber walls, a sticker-covered espresso machine and handmade cups. A few pavement tables add seating, but the small room fills quickly.

Coffee

Light roasts, fruit flavours and bright acidity define the coffee. Stoll Coffee is the main roasting partner, with contrasting origins often available for espresso. Ask about the options before ordering.

Espresso shows the fruit and fermentation most directly; milk softens the acidity in a flat white or cappuccino. Some coffees taste tart or winey. If you prefer chocolate-heavy espresso with less acidity, ask for a rounder option.

Filter

Pour-over is the strongest reason to visit, with two to four single origins sometimes available. The selection includes fruitier natural-process coffees and cleaner washed lots. Describe the flavours you enjoy and let the barista explain the differences.

Coffee is served in handmade ceramic cups. Take a seat if one is free, or drink outside in good weather, then ask whether your favourite is available as a retail bag.

Food

Banana bread is the familiar order: a thick slice, often warmed and served with yoghurt. Cakes and a small pastry selection add choice, though the case can thin out later in the day. This is enough for a snack with coffee, rather than a full breakfast.

Service & Room

Staff can explain the beans without expecting specialist knowledge. Music, closely spaced tables and people moving around the bar make the room lively, especially on Saturdays. Seating is limited and the soundtrack can rule out concentrated work. It is better for a coffee break than a laptop afternoon.
