One Fifteenth Coffee

Gandaria, Jakarta

Choose the Gandaria original for a coffee flight and a full breakfast. The generous tables also suit work outside the busiest periods.

Share

One Fifteenth Coffee's Gandaria original sits on a side street in Kebayoran Baru, south of central Jakarta's business towers. A broad glass frontage opens onto a long, pale room with communal tables, timber furniture, planted edges and space around the counter. Layered wall artwork breaks up the room without making it feel like a showroom.

The cafe opened in 2012 and takes its name from a 1:15 coffee-to-water brewing ratio. Manual brews and comparative flights remain central, while a full breakfast menu and generous tables make it possible to stay. Prices are premium by neighbourhood standards, parking is limited and the room loses much of its calm when Gandaria is busy.

Coffee

Espresso, piccolo, cappuccino and flat white sit alongside the manual brews. The cafe works with Morph Coffee Roasters and has long featured Indonesian coffee, with single origins changing through the year.

The flights are worth a look. One serves a single origin as espresso, cappuccino and Clever Dripper; another puts two filter coffees side by side. They give you more to compare than a single cup, especially when sharing.

Manual Brew

Manual brew is part of daily service. The bar can talk through the coffee and recipe, but a description of the flavours you enjoy is enough to start.

A single filter is the simpler option if you already know what you want. Beans are available to take home, and a quieter weekday morning leaves more time for questions.

Food

Breakfast ranges from kaya toast, açai bowls and avocado toast to eggs Benedict and shakshuka. Indonesian dishes such as pempek, mie celor and risoles sit beside the brunch staples. The wider group's menus vary by location, so check the Gandaria menu for the day's choice.

The breadth suits mixed groups: one person can order a filter flight while another comes mainly for breakfast. Cakes and churros cover a later stop. Coffee plus one substantial dish is a straightforward order; adding flights, food and sweets quickly pushes the bill beyond an everyday cafe spend.

Service & Room

Generous tables, an open plan and communal seating make the room comfortable for conversation and workable for laptops outside rush periods. The layout borrows the directness of an Indonesian warung, keeping the bar visible instead of hiding it behind a formal dining room.

Timing changes the experience. At peak periods, conversations carry across the room, tables turn slowly and service can lose focus. Parking is limited, so ride-hailing is easier if Gandaria is not already on your route. Arrive early for work or a careful coffee order; choose late morning when brunch and a livelier room are welcome.

Why Filter Notes shortlisted One Fifteenth Coffee

Come to Gandaria for a coffee flight and breakfast, with enough time to sit over both. One Fifteenth works particularly well for a group with different interests: the coffee has depth and the kitchen offers a full meal. Arrive before the rush if you want a quieter table.
