Tanamera Coffee occupies a compact ground-floor corner of Pasaraya Blok M in Melawai, one of South Jakarta's busiest shopping and eating districts. The brand's deep red covers the bar and walls, balanced by timber, soft lighting, booths and sofas. Indoor and outdoor seats provide some choice, but the room becomes cramped when the after-work or weekend crowd arrives.
Founded in 2013, Tanamera works exclusively with coffee grown and roasted in Indonesia. Pasaraya serves that range as espresso and V60, sells beans for home and adds a draft-coffee system built for speed. Choose filter when the bar has time to guide you through the origins, or order Draft Black for a quick cold cup. Long daily hours make the cafe easy to fit around Blok M, although prices and presentation are firmly premium.
Coffee
Tanamera's coffees come from Indonesian regions including Aceh, Toraja, Bali and Papua. The espresso selection changes with the lots, so check what is in the grinder before choosing a straight shot or milk drink.
Tanamera roasts on Giesen machines and sells whole beans alongside packaged brew formats. If a cup works, ask whether the same coffee is on the shelf and whether it was roasted for espresso or filter. The wide distribution may make Tanamera look like a large chain, but the producer and roasting information remains accessible at the bar.
Filter & Draft Coffee
Tanamera's V60 range moves through Indonesian regions and roast profiles. Let the available coffee determine the order: a brewed cup is the better choice when you want to compare origins or select a bag for home, although guidance is naturally shorter when the counter is busy.
Pasaraya's more unusual option is Draft Coffee. Black, White and Caramel versions are drawn from a tap, built on cold-brewed coffee from Aceh, Toraja and Bali, and served in seconds. Draft Black leaves the coffee unobscured; White adds milk, while Caramel is intentionally sweeter. It does not replace a carefully brewed V60, but it is a fast, cold alternative before moving on through Blok M.
Food
Pastry, cake and light dishes can extend a visit, but this is not a brunch-first recommendation. Menus cover croissants, bread and sweets, with more substantial savoury plates depending on the day. Pair one pastry with a second coffee and check the current offer before arriving for a full meal.
Prices are above a basic neighbourhood coffee stop. The Indonesian V60 selection and cold draft drinks are the more distinctive orders here; food is useful if you want to stay longer.
Service & Room
Booths and sofas are the most comfortable seats; counter and outdoor positions suit a shorter stop. Wi-Fi and power make a work session possible, and the 7am opening gives early visitors a quiet window. Later, music, conversation and a crowded floor work against concentration.
Service is warm and efficient when the bar has room for questions. At peak times, attention shortens and the room feels hurried. Choose an early weekday for a laptop and a guided coffee order; visit later when conversation and a livelier room are welcome.
Why Filter Notes shortlisted Tanamera Coffee
Pasaraya is a convenient stop while exploring Blok M. Take time over an Indonesian V60, or get a cold draft coffee before moving on. The compact room is less comfortable once the music and after-work crowd pick up.
