White bags of coffee line the shelves behind Punto Café’s bar, with small round tables and wooden stools on a covered patio. This is a compact stop on Calle Piura in northwestern Miraflores, the coastal district south of central Lima. Come for a V60 and a canelé; allow extra time when the nearby school lets out.
Founder Chiara Nicolini opened the café in 2022, after developing a roasting and training business. The coffees are roasted at Punto Lab, and the shop gives you a choice of Peruvian growing regions in the cup and on the retail shelf.
Coffee
Misk’i is the house espresso blend, combining washed coffees from Pasco and Cusco. Its medium roast is designed for body and cocoa sweetness, making a flat white a sensible starting order. Expect a small drink with relatively little milk; choose a latte if you want something longer. Espresso and cappuccino are available alongside it.
The retail range extends beyond the blend to coffees from Villa Rica, Amazonas, Cajamarca and Cusco. Ask which of the available bags matches what you have just tasted, and check the producer and process before choosing.
Filter
Take time over the brew-bar selection. V60 and Switch preparations let you compare individual coffees, including limited lots, while batch brew covers a quicker cup. The changing range has included washed Geisha from Prudencio Vargas’s El Mirante farm in Cusco. Ask what is being brewed today rather than arriving for a particular lot.
For a cold alternative, the Mont Blanc combines cold brew with cold foam, orange zest and chocolate. It is a sweeter order than a plain filter; matcha and hot chocolate give non-coffee drinkers another choice.
Food
Food comes from specialist suppliers. Canelés, brownies and croissants suit a coffee break; toast and sandwiches cover a light breakfast or lunch. The small tables make more sense for a drink and a plate than a large spread.
Service & Room
There are indoor seats as well as the covered patio, and a counter with sockets for a laptop. Wi-Fi is available, but seating is limited. The café can fill after lunch and at school finishing time, so leave room for a wait if you want to sit.
