The Craftery by Subko occupies a restored home on Koramangala-Sarjapur Road. Its roughly 9,000 square feet include a courtyard, small amphitheatre, coffee bars, bakehouse counter, cacao displays, long tables and upstairs seating. Murals, brass details and views into production are part of the setting.
The menu includes Indian-grown single-origin coffee, pour-over, espresso, laminated pastries and house chocolate, with beans to take home. Prices are high, service can slow when busy and the courtyard can get hot.
Subko has two other Bengaluru stops, the Ajji House at The Courtyard in Shanti Nagar and its café at The Humming Tree in Indiranagar. Choose Koramangala if you want to see the larger Craftery, with the bakehouse and cacao displays under the same roof.
Coffee
Subko sources coffee from across the Indian subcontinent, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Arabica appears alongside Robusta, Excelsa and occasional less familiar species or processes, with estate and processing details on the menu.
Espresso can be bright and may not suit everyone. Other options include milk drinks, cold brew, cascara, jaggery-based drinks and South Indian filter coffee on ice. Staff can help you choose from the menu.
Filter
The Bloom Bar sits beside the espresso station and uses a Poursteady system for pour-over. Ask which single-estate or microlot coffee is currently available, as the selection changes.
Beans are available to take home, though they are expensive by local standards. Ask about the roast date and recommended brewing method before choosing.
Food
The bakehouse makes croissants, twice-baked pastries, filled puffs, sourdough, cakes and sandwiches. The wider menu includes breakfast and sourdough pizza.
Fresh bread, croissants and cacao desserts receive praise. Savoury dishes can feel expensive, and their quality can be less consistent at peak times.
Service & Room
The courtyard has trees, an amphitheatre and pet-friendly seating, though the air-conditioned rooms may be more comfortable in the heat. Upstairs tables and the PitchCity work area suit a longer conversation or laptop session; visitors can also see the sensory lab, cacao area and bakery.
Staff can explain the beans and brewing, though service can be uneven when the café is full. Weekday mornings may be calmer. Ajji House in Shanti Nagar and The Humming Tree in Indiranagar are mapped separately; the former Mini on 12th Main is closed.
