A Giesen coffee roaster sits on the shop floor at MCOFFEE, a small white coffee bar in Milford, on Auckland’s North Shore. Around it are a few tables and shelves of beans and brewing equipment. Formerly Meebz, the shop remains at 3 Milford Road: stop for a flat white and browse the beans, or take your coffee towards nearby Milford Beach.
Coffee
The range runs from darker espresso blends to lighter single origins, with organic and decaffeinated options alongside them. Tell the barista whether you drink coffee black or with milk, and whether you prefer a fuller roast or more acidity. Batch brew offers another way to try the coffee; ask what is being served that day.
Seasonal espresso drinks also appear on the menu, including an iced rose oatmilk shaken espresso in early 2026. For home brewing, the retail shelves extend to filter-roasted single origins and smaller lots in the Superlative collection, alongside drippers and papers. Name your brewer when asking for a bean recommendation.
Service & Room
The roaster brings the machinery of coffee production into the room where you drink it. It is retained for occasional smaller batches; the company’s main roastery is in Ōtāhuhu, south of the city centre. Order at the counter and browse while your drink is made. The limited seating suits a short pause, with takeaway an easy option when the tables are occupied. The food selection has included cookies and canelés; check the counter rather than planning a meal here.
Why Filter Notes shortlisted MCOFFEE
MCOFFEE is a good North Shore stop for comparing house roasts and choosing beans with help from the team. Pair a short coffee visit with a walk to Milford Beach, and plan around the daytime hours: the bar closes on Sundays and public holidays.
