East Pole’s original public roastery serves espresso, drip and pour-over made with its own coffees. There is generous seating and a retail shelf, while food is limited to items such as pastries and empanadas.
East Pole has two Atlanta coffee bars. The original here at Armour Yards is the roastery; the second, on North Highland Avenue in Poncey-Highland, is a neighborhood café for a cup or a bag of East Pole beans.
Coffee
East Pole began roasting in a Grant Park garage in 2015 and moved its roaster and coffee bar to Armour Yards in 2017. The range includes recurring blends and seasonal single origins from Central America, South America and Africa.
Filter
Filter coffee is available as drip and pour-over; drip often comes with a refill. Ask which single origins are being served, as the range changes and can include brighter Ethiopian and processed Latin American coffees.
The roastery hosts public cuppings and a monthly canister-refill club. You may also see roasting in progress during a visit.
Food
The changing selection includes croissants, muffins, doughnuts and other pastries, as well as empanadas.
