Function Coffee Labs is a small corner café on South 10th Street in Bella Vista, near the Italian Market. It has a coffee counter, pastry case and a few tables.
Founder Ross Nickerson’s mechanical-engineering background helped shape the coffee shot, a concentrated espresso-style drink with a more open flavour. It is one of the café’s signature orders.
Coffee & Filter
The menu includes espresso drinks, seasonal specials and a V60-focused Lab Line. Vibrant Coffee Roasters is the sibling roasting company. Try the coffee shot for the house speciality, or a V60 for filter.
Pastry
The in-house sourdough bakery makes a changing selection of croissants, bronuts, danishes, cinnamon buns, muffins, cookies and toast. Visit early for the widest choice.

Service & Room
Order at the counter and take a small table if one is free. The café can get busy, and its limited seating is better suited to a short visit than an afternoon of laptop work.
