Where to start with pour-over coffee in Berlin
The slower cup leads when the room makes brewing visible: Kreuzberg roastery counters, tiny hand-brew bars, Mitte roaster shelves, and cafes where filter coffee is more than a brunch add-on.
Bonanza Coffee Roasters is the best roaster first stop: The Kreuzberg roastery room is the cleanest way into Bonanza's filter coffee, espresso, pastries, and retail shelf. Chapter One Coffee is the best focused brew bar: A tiny Bergmannkiez room where siphon, hand brews, and espresso make the slower cup feel deliberate. THE BARN is the best mitte roaster shelf: The original Auguststrasse room still gives THE BARN's exacting roasting identity its most direct public face.
Bonanza is the clearest roaster first stop, Chapter One is the focused brew-bar detour, and THE BARN or Roststatte make the Mitte roaster-retail case. The useful spread runs through Kreuzberg, Mitte, Friedrichshain, and Alexanderplatz, with Wedding better left to beans-and-laptop intent than the core pour-over route.
Look elsewhere for a brunch-first room or the nearest batch brew. These stops work best when hand brew is the reason to choose the cafe.
