All Day Roasting Company and Mountain Kids are useful evening choices. Fika Fika and RUFOUS are options for a later coffee at a roastery café.

The spread runs through Minsheng, Beimen, Zhongshan, Da'an, Xinyi, Songshan, and smaller central pockets, so use the list by where your afternoon ends.

All Day Roasting Company

All Day Roasting Company is anchored on Yanshou Street in Minsheng, a leafy Songshan neighborhood northeast of Taipei's central station area and about a twelve-minute walk from Nanjing Sanmin MRT. The room is bigger than many Taipei specialty cafes: concrete, glass, roaster hardware, long tables, and enough daylight for the name to feel literal rather than cute.

All Day Roasting Company · Minsheng Community

All Day's strongest claim is roasting. It is part of Minsheng's coffee map and works as an active roaster, with a brand increasingly focused on equipment, sourcing, brewing papers, cuppings, and competition-level coffee. Order filter or a black coffee if you want to see that side clearly; milk drinks remain the easier everyday route.

A spacious Minsheng café for coffee, sweets and a longer stay.

Mountain Kids Coffee Roaster

Mountain Kids Coffee Roaster's Beimen shop sits on Zhongxiao West Road, just west of Taipei Main Station and beside the old North Gate in the city's historic west side. Order at the counter, then climb to the second floor for the long table and window seats facing the gate. The room is easy to reach before a train, yet specific enough to justify coming early for a better seat.

MKCR began in 2018, selects high-quality green coffee and roasts it itself. Espresso, cappuccino and latte give the menu an easy route in, while seasonal drinks such as floral or tea-led lattes broaden the choice without displacing the coffee. Recent visitors still single out both the cup quality and the warm counter service; the room works for a straightforward milk drink, but the house-roasted list is the stronger reason to choose it over a generic station cafe.

Fika Fika Cafe Yitong

Fika Fika Cafe Yitong sits beside Yitong Park in Zhongshan, a central Taipei district a short walk from Songjiang Nanjing MRT station and north-east of Taipei Main Station. The room is bright rather than theatrical: white walls, pale wood, large windows, a visible counter, and enough different seating to make the same cafe work for a quick coffee, a tray of cake and filter, or a slower weekday morning.

Fika Fika is built around its own roasting, with founder James Chen's Nordic-roasting background still central to the pitch. The better order is filter or a single-origin coffee if you want the house at its sharpest, then beans from the shelf if something lands well. Espresso drinks are not an afterthought, but the cafe makes more sense as a broad roaster-led room than as a tiny espresso bar.

RUFOUS Coffee

RUFOUS Coffee is the Taipei stop for readers who want the city's specialty coffee culture in its older, darker register. The original shop sits on Fuxing South Road in Da'an, about five minutes from Technology Building Station, with a modest frontage, warm low lighting, seats around the bar, and walls crowded with postcards and artwork. It is not the bright, fast cafe you choose between errands.

RUFOUS is strongest when treated as a roaster's bar. The menu runs through espresso, hand brew, cold drip, siphon, and house blends, with the official shop also selling beans, drip bags, and coffee gear. The best order is a filter or cold-drip coffee first, then beans from the shelf if the cup lands well.

Coffee River

Coffee River sits on Songshan Road in Xinyi, east of central Taipei and about ten minutes on foot from Yongchun MRT Exit 5. The room is small and owner-led: a counter, a warm corner seat, house-roasted beans, and the kind of low-pressure rhythm that makes the stop feel closer to visiting a regular's cafe than checking off a famous name.

Coffee River · Xinyi / Yongchun

The clearest order is coffee first: espresso drinks if you want the house style quickly, hand-brewed single origins if you want to slow down, and beans to take away if the bar conversation turns into a home-brewing one. Coffee River is a self-roasting cafe, so the shelf is part of the visit rather than an afterthought.

GABEE.

GABEE. sits on a quieter Songshan side street east of central Taipei, close to the Minsheng community grid and north of Nanjing Fuxing's transit links. The room is larger than many of the city's specialist counters, with a proper sit-down rhythm, a visible bar, and enough space for the coffee program to feel playful rather than cramped.

GABEE. in Songshan
GABEE. · Songshan

Start with espresso or a milk drink if you want the clearest version of GABEE.'s identity. The menu stretches into hand brew and flavored signatures, but the shop's strongest lane is still the bar: latte art, texture, and drinks that treat Taiwanese ingredients as part of the coffee rather than a gimmick added afterward.

Coffee Sweet

Coffee Sweet sits down a narrow lane in Zhongshan, just north of Taipei Main Station and close enough to the city's central hotel belt to work as a deliberate morning detour. The room is small, calm, and counter-led, with the visit built around a slower brew rather than a fast queue.

Coffee Sweet · Zhongshan

Order siphon or hand-brewed coffee if you have time. Recent visitor notes point to Panama, Ethiopia, and other single-origin choices, with the owner guiding the brew and the pace. Espresso is not the headline. The best version of the visit is one cup made carefully, then a second look at the board if the room is quiet enough to stay.
