Caffenation PAKT is reached through a passage in Haringrode, south-east of central Antwerp and near Antwerpen-Berchem station. The old industrial courtyard has a broad terrace, greenery, brick walls and full-height windows, with the working roastery beside the bar.
Caffenation has served Antwerp since 2003 and roasts coffee for its own bars and a wider European network. The PAKT location has a roastery and serves espresso, batch brew and food, with beans to buy and outdoor seating. It is a detour from the cathedral and central station.
Coffee
Caffenation serves its own seasonal single origins and recurring espresso coffees. Ask what is on the grinder and which coffee the bar recommends for a black or milk drink.
Caffenation publishes sourcing and transparency information and sells its coffees alongside brewing gear, capsules, drip bags and subscriptions. Staff can help you choose beans for your equipment.
Filter
Batch brew is a regular option, with coffees changing over time. Ask what is available or whether you can taste a coffee before choosing.
You can drink filter coffee at the bar or sit in the courtyard.
Food
The small food selection includes cakes, cinnamon rolls and pastries from Caffenation’s Antwerp bakery.
Caffenation has several Antwerp locations: BLUE on Mechelsesteenweg focuses on baking, KOCO shares the Eat Dust store on Volkstraat, and ZUID on Jan van Beersstraat has a larger upstairs area for laptop users.
Service & Room
A passage from Lamorinièrestraat leads to the shared PAKT courtyard. The café opens onto it through large glass doors, with brick, concrete, communal tables and outdoor seats shaded by plants. The roastery is next door.
Regulars, nearby workers, families and laptop users share the space. The terrace is busier on weekends and sunny afternoons; weekday mornings are quieter. Order at the counter, where service is generally quick.
